Sarah’s Creek takes its name from a real creek that runs through the Stockwell farm near Ashton in the Robertson Valley, beneath the Langeberg mountains of the Western Cape.
For generations, the Malherbe family has lived, farmed and entertained here, around long tables, slow afternoons and meals shared with family and friends.
On the farm stands an old schoolhouse dating back to the late 1800s, originally built to serve the children of the surrounding rural community.
Among those children was a young girl named Sarah, remembered in family stories for always taking the scenic route to school along the creek.
She would wander slowly beside the water, jumping from stone to stone, stopping to admire dragonflies hovering above the reeds and losing track of time in the beauty of the valley around her.
That same unhurried spirit still inspires Sarah’s Creek today.
Made by cousins who grew up on the farm, Sarah’s Creek is a wine created for real life, for braais, dinner tables, weekends away and the simple pleasure of opening another bottle with people you enjoy being around.
The wines are crafted with care, balance and drinkability in mind, using quality fruit from the region and a gentle winemaking approach designed to create wines people genuinely love to drink.
Sarah’s Creek is, above all else, a celebration of good wine, good food and good company, proudly South African, and proudly rooted in the valley where the story began.
